Albertino is a British-French-born artist,

in other words, a Parisian Londoner who is commonly known for his portraits depicting friends, family, lovers, poets, writers, artists and strangers met in cafes, unusual places, bistros and cabarets, the interior scenes are his favourite topics.

After graduating from university and several other Parisian art and fashion schools, he became the artistic assistant of the Parisian-based jeweller, accessories designer, and interior designer Princess Siki de Somalie.

Thereupon, studying at the Atelier De L’ Académie Nationale Des Beaux Arts De Paris, Albertino became an artistic director of Filosofi Culture du Papier. This no longer Paris-based company worked jointly with the Swiss-German firm Chione & Lorenz.

Subsequently, in Paris, he conducted several calligraphic services and graphical works for fashion designers, such as

Paul Smith, the jewellery designer Marie-Helene de Taillac, then for Victoire de Taillac, Sylvie de Laigue, also for the Japanese fashion designer Keita Maruyama, and worked for Gucci during Frida Giannini’s fashion direction.

During his career, Albertino has curated looks for several underground startup movie productions and was a night cultural Co-broadcaster at a French Radio IDFM 98.

Since he was a child, his grandmother has been his favourite Muse, and years later, he has had a passion for cats. A few years ago, his dearest Muse Minoushka, a feline stained like a tiger, went too soon

“but she still visits in my dreams!”

As he said…

Albertino has settled in London for the last twenty years, where he still works in his North Westend Studio. He mainly freelances for independent international publishing companies and the music industry, frequently shuttling between London and Paris.

His inspiration is often described in connection with a magical Pandora's box, full of unexpected eclectic sketches, alliancing a passion for chinoiseries, British medieval art and the French eighteenth century.

“The 1920s are known as the “Roaring Twenties," the "Jazz Age," and the “Charleston Era.”

“My grandparents' artistic influence and taste significantly shaped my creative expression, and my work serves as a tribute to that era.”

Albertino always surprises our sights with creative fabric designs, murals and oil paintings. A sympathetic, genuine multidisciplinary artist with a recognisable laugh who is always beautified with a timeless blend of French flair and British elegance.

The Artist Catherine Charrié photographed Albertino in October 2023 while visiting Paris at Place Furstenberg 75 006.

Albertino spent much of his childhood in Saint Germain Des Pres and Boulogne-upon-Seine. At age three, his parents relocated internationally, living in South Africa, Spain, and the Netherlands. He humorously describes himself as a "kind of gypsy," reflecting his diverse experiences growing up.
